Whole green tomatoes-cut into 1/2-inch slices |

Soak tomatoes in milk. |

Mix cornmeal and flour,season with salt and pepper and set aside. |

In a large pan over med-high heat add butter and melt. |

Dredge tomatoes in the cornmeal and flour mix until completely covered. |

Place tomatoes in pan and fry for about 2 min. on each side. |

Drain on paper towels. |

Season with fresh cracked black pepper. |
