FRIED GREEN TOMATOES
 
 
2   Whole green tomatoes-cut into 1/2-inch slices  
1 cup    milk  
1 cup    cornmeal  
1/2 cup    flour  
  salt and pepper  
2   Tblsp unsalted butter  
 
1 Soak tomatoes in milk.
2 Mix cornmeal and flour,season with salt and pepper and set aside.
3 In a large pan over med-high heat add butter and melt.
4 Dredge tomatoes in the cornmeal and flour mix until completely covered.
5 Place tomatoes in pan and fry for about 2 min. on each side.
6 Drain on paper towels.
7 Season with fresh cracked black pepper.
